How to Get
the Most Out of Your Dynamic Air Cleaner
Dear Dynamic Customer;
In case you have been wondering just how much
good the Dynamic is actually doing here is some information
about air cleaning in general and the Dynamic technology!
-
How to judge its effectiveness
- Due to the unique loading characteristics of polarized
media (7000 volts in a three layered pad) the place to look
first for evidence is the inside of the pad. The fact that
the voltage is applied first to the middle carbon layer
causes it to load from the inside out. Normally we look at
the outside of any filter to determine if we see lots of
dust caked on it. This is only a partial method so follow
this method of examination and you will increase your
awareness of what is actually going on.
-
Cut a corner of the pad off
with scissors when changing the pad. Then pull back the
layers to examine the middle carbon layer for dust. Flick
the carbon layer and watch as the dust comes out into the
air.
-
Realize what you are looking at
by understanding that 98% of the particles in the air are
invisible to the naked eye. That means the large particles
you see on the outside of any filter are only a small
fraction of the problem. (see the
micron chart)
-
Dynamic Difference - Here is
the major difference between the Dynamic Electronic (7000
Volt) Air Cleaner and "Paper Filter." Magnetism!
The voltage creates a polarization of + and - charges on the
fibers and the carbon causing the charged air particles to
attract to the charged fibers/carbon. This is the only way
to effectively capture the sub micron (invisible) particles.
All of the bacteria and viruses and vast majority of health
injurious pollutants (including gases) are in this invisible
realm.
-
How do I know the bacteria and viruses
are being killed - The only way is to examine the
test data done by independence laboratories and i will
gladly send it to you. There really is no way to visually
determine these facts as the invisibility prevents the naked
eye from making such an assessment. (See the
micron chart)
How to
Increase Efficiency of Your Dynamic Air Cleaner
-
Run the furnace blower 24/7 or
as much as you can. Go to the "Fan On" position at your
thermostat settings. The more air that goes through it will
obviously increase the efficiency of the Dynamic or any
other filter for that matter.
-
Change the pad every 3 months unless you are
not running the furnace at all for periods of time
controlled by the weather or your schedule.
-
Remove excess clutter from the basement,
cardboard, animal dander. Open your windows only when
necessary. Be aware of high air pollution days.
